Teenage Dogs
Adolescence sucks. No one is their best selves in 8th grade, and it’s no different for our dogs.
Suddenly our sweet baby puppies turn into big, hormonal, spicy dogs. They stop listening to us, yell at us all the time, and start barking and lunging at people and other dogs!
But not only can you survive your dogs’ adolescence, you can thrive together!
With empathetic coaching, and proven methods, we can help you leave anxiety, frustration, and fear behind.
Teenagers!
Because baby puppies apparently aren’t bad enough!
“I trust my dog more. Before training, I was burnt out on trying to learn everything I could to the point I couldn't stomach anything about dogs. Now, I'm interested again and open to learning.”
— Tish B

Curated Training Plans
At Flash of Brilliance, every team is an individual. Each training plan is created with the specific dog and guardian’s needs in mind.
We take pride in finding creative solutions for complex problems, and in working with people of different cultures, disabilities, learning histories, and goals. -
Evidence Based & Effective
It is important to us that our training programs are evidence based. Because of this, our methods are effective and ethical. We refer to the disciplines of behaviour analysis, ethology, neurobiology, psychology, and beyond to understand and treat complex behaviour problems, and raise healthy and happy dogs.

Prioritized Emotional Support
Having a teenage dog is hard. We know firsthand how disappointing, frustrating, and overwhelming it can be. One of our top priorities is supporting guardians through the entire training process.
Your frustrations, fears, glimmers, and joys are always front of mind.
Has your teenage dog’s recall completely fallen apart?
It’s not uncommon for adolescent dogs to go from having a wonderful recall and always staying close to booking it after geese, or blowing off a recall to go say hi to a dog on the entire opposite side of the park!
Our Recall class is one of the most comprehensive and effective resources available! Off leash reliability is so much more than just coming when called, and we cover every aspect with ethical, effective training.
“A one year old dog has the dumbest brain it ever will”
